CLJV Lose Season Finale, 41-12 to Bandera

The Canyon Lake JV team will be glad the last game was played…based on how many players were walking around on crutches on the sidelines and with other circumstances has made the team thin in numbers.

Hence, the 41-12 drubbing at the hands of a Bulldog from Bandera.

The game started on a bright note as Canyon Lake quickly moved the ball for 69 yards on just five plays, highlighted by a 47 yard run from running back Karl Weidner.

Most of the highlights ended with that run as the Bulldogs unleashed a Stouffet with runs and punt returns, taking the wind out of the sails for CL.

The Hawks did answer a touchdown on their first possession of the second half after Bandera had struck for the first score of the half.

The drive covered 63 yards with the help of two passes by Connor Ricker to Michael Sheffield.

The first reception had Sheffield covering 45 yards to the visitors 18 yard line. After two unsuccessful running plays, Ricker found Sheffield for another pass and run on the sideline where the sideline tackled Sheffield on the one foot line.

Ricker did the honors running the next play in for the final score for the season.

It was a cold night for the fans, but a season well done was the reward for a JV that now sets their sites on making the next rung up the ladder for Varsity…Good Luck
