The Hawk’s Volleyball team had a busy week with the two games played on Saturday, this group of ladies concluded a week playing 7 matches in 5 days.

Bunk-Haus says Way to Go CL!!

On Saturday, CL was paired with a couple of 6A schools in the Rattler Tournament and did not finish as high as they would have liked but still competed well against larger schools that would not allow a sub-par effort for any chance in winning.

“We had lots of energy and we had a lack of intensity and we have not learned how to turn off and on the switch, we did not even compete,” Head Coach Kim Clemons stated in their lackluster performance that started at 8am. “The other schools had to start the same time we did so that excuse does not work…they (the other teams) covered the court and we were there to be there.”

Canyon Lake has now finished their 3rd and final tournament and the schedule will now be more on a district schedule with games on Tuesday and Friday.

“Overall we played good volleyball this week,” Coach Clemons finished.

The Hawks took their first opponent on Saturday (Ann Richards) to a 3 game set but with a slow start in that 3rd game did not allow a chance of catching up in falling, 15-25.

               Way to Go Hawks!!

Things looked positive in that 2nd game when The Lake was able to control the first and final serve in never trailing and only having 3 unforced turnovers was a catalyst in securing their only win during this two game stint.

Canyon Lake took care of Austin Akins on Friday night with a 3 game sweep which was a continuation of their Thursday Rattler contests when CL won 2 out of 3 matches. That one loss was to another 6A school from Houston area and it took another 3 games before bowing out.

Canyon Lake will be in Johnson City this Tuesday and then Blanco will come to the Hawk Nest for a Friday tilt.

Another month of finding consistency before District 29-4A gets started against Boerne on September 27th.

Go Hawks!!
