              Let’s Go Hawks!!

Canyon Lake will have a lot of action this week with a plethora of events from FallTennis to Cross Country to Volleyball to the opening of Football Season.

All those previous teams have been in action and now the football program has just completed their pre-season scrimmages and ready themselves for another Hawk Gridiron of battles.

Starting with the Volleyball, the Hawks, have had a plethora (2nd time) of Seniors for the past 5 years and this time around this Hawk team has more non-seniors and will hope that the younger players can get those kinks out of their armor before district season gets going in a little over a month from now.

Hovering around a .500 record that has had a plethora (3rd time) of 6A & 5A Schools that have contributed greatly to an even steven record. The Lake has played 14 of their first 22 games against these larger institutions.

Suffice to say, this week will have two 3A contests with a short road game to Johnson City on Tuesday and then some home cooking on Friday when Blanco comes to the Hawk Nest.

The Hawk Tennis had a good start last week when they battled La Vernia and will welcome Burnet on Saturday for a cooler morning match with a 9am start.

Football will have a different type of year with only 4 home games and this week, the Hawks, will travel to Marble Falls for their opening act while the Sub-Varsity Boys will start their action with a Freshman team kicking off at 5:00pm and followed by our Junior Varsity commencing with their kick-off at 7:00pm.
