Lady Hawks Sweep Manor, 25-9, 25-19, 25-10
Lady Hawks (16-12) keep honing their game after a 3 set sweep over Manor in running, The Lake’s, winning streak to 6 games with an off week before District 28-4A gets going at the end of September.
Manor would not be a huge hurdle but with Homecoming and several other distractions, this contest would need to be paramount for learning to focus and keep those skill sets in tip-top shape.
“I wanted to get this one down,” Head Coach Kim Clemons said with a sigh. “With this being Homecoming I wanted to be sure that the girls would stay focused…it was obvious that they were slow to our feet but we could have been better.”
On what happens these next few days before the last non-district battle against Marion, “We are going to work on our fundamentals…fundamentals….fundamentals and we start to work on getting more depth on film.”
The Hawks stated this game with Cassidy Felps starting with a 9 serve rally that helped with a team high 9 aces for the match.
Felps has been playing an important role in getting more Hawksters with kills based on how this season started off. Manor had a lot of errors but when a kill opportunity was open, CL, took care of business.
This might be the deepest Hawk team in that kill department as The Lake has a boatload of players that can get a kill with a good set which is what has been playing a roll in the this 6 game winning streak.
Accumulating 54 Blocks from Megan Vorhis this Season has this Sophomore as one of three Hawks to pass that 100 block barrier.

Now a week of practice will help start this Hawk Team to sharpen their skill set for a run in district.
