CL Hawk’s JV Baseball Team Gets on Track in All 3 Phases in Win Over Floresville

Canyon Lake’s Junior Varsity continue their winning ways after a Bade Holland no-hitter against Floresville JV Eagles in a run-ruled conquest, 10-0.

Bade Holland and Travis Parma teamed up for a convincing win over Floresville, 10-0.

The Hawks (7-3-1) are in action in a Wimberley Tournament and dropped an earlier game to Marble Falls JV, 9-4 but that was forgotten in a hurry with this victory.

It was in the 3rd inning when The Lake would unleash their first salvo scoring 5 runs in putting this hitless Eagle team in their place.

Austin Bowers opened the inning with an 8 pitch walk and would be the eventual winning run on an error and wild pitch, 1-0.

Travis Parma would keep this rally in gear with an infield hit followed by Truitt Cutre’s single scoring Parma. After a strikeout, three consecutive singles from Reagan Ackerman, Cody Jones, and Andrew Miller and some help from some poor fielding helping the Hawks ratchet up 3 more runs and what would be a commanding lead, 5-0.

“As the lead off batter, I was just trying to get on base anyway I could,” Parma recounted. “I felt real comfortable at the plate today….defensively, I was a little nervous since I have not played shortstop in a while, but after the first ground ball, I settled in and kept making plays to help our team.”

It was a rinse and repeat in that 4th inning with another 5 run frame as Bowers would do the honors again, this time opening the inning with a single.

Parma was hit by a pitch and then a 4 pitch walk for Cutre had the bases loaded. Then a bases loaded walk for Ackerman would scored Bowers.

A Jones single would add another run and then a two out single off the bat of pitcher Holland would end this inning with 5 more runs.

Holland would end the game with a one-two-three out frame bookending this inning with two more strikeouts and finishing with 8 and one walk for this no-hitter gem.

Holland had two strikeouts in each inning and the Eagles could advance that one walk to 2nd base as that would be as far as Floresville would get to seeing home plate as an offense unit.

“Early on, I was trying to throw strikes,” Holland said like Nolan Ryan. “Then I got in a groove and was really hitting my spots. Cody (Jones) did a great job behind the plate and calling a good game for me.”

Total dominance in all 3 phrases:

Defense with no errors. √
Offense with 10 runs & 9 hits. √
Pitching with a No-Hitter.

Game-Set-Match and now the Hawks will be in action in Wimberley on Saturday when they face off against Blanco with the first pitch at 11:30am.

Way to Go Hawks and Beat Blanco!!
