Canyon Lake’s football team enjoyed a week off and will get back to action this week when they face their final non-district game against a familiar foe in Blanco.
The Hawk Freshman football team will be on the road in Belton since the Blanco Panther’s do not field a freshman only squad. That will pit the Hawks JV and Blanco JV on Thursday.
This will be the 5th game of the season which four of those endeavors have occurred on the road. The good news is knowing that next season there will be a lot of home cooking for varsity play.
Tennis will enter the final district foe when they travel to State Ranked Fredericksburg on Tuesday.
While Cross Country will be enjoying the scenery in Lampasas on Friday with an early 6am start.
The Hawks finished 7th place in the Wimberley XC Invitational with Kane Reyes 17:43.86 finished 10th place and Brian Clark, D.J. Menke, Rand Almond, Degan Miller, Reid Mentzer and Caleb Scoggin finished with an average time of 21:54.83 as a team.
Volleyball started their district play last week with a win over Fredericksburg and will have a road game in Boerne on Tuesday and then a battle with Wimberley this Friday. Two very important contests for a chance to continue their playoff run.
Newcomer Davenport is not competing in Varsity Volleyball, so that means only one team will be eliminated in the District 28-4A round-robin set of contests.
Having that win over the Billies to start district play will give CL a chance to control their own finish instead of relying on other schools to win during those later battles.
Way to Go Hawks!!
