CL Hawks JV Lose by One to Boerne Geneva, 55-54
The JV Boys Basketball team were in control for all but the last few seconds in loss to the Geneva JV, 55-54.
This game’s biggest lead for the visiting Eagles was 2 points while CL was able to open up a 14 point advantage in the 3rd period, 36-22 with just under 4 minutes left in that stanza.
Then the Eagles would slowly but surely cut into that lead until a 3 pointer with 19 seconds left that proved to be the difference in losing the heartbreaker by one point.
Brock Coburn and Marshall McConnell both finished with double digit scoring and had a combined 5 assists and 7 steals giving an indication of their dominate play in this contest.
Chad Parma had a good line score with 9 points, 3 assists, and 4 steals as this Chaos Offense did it’s part through most of this affair.
That 2nd half was the achilles heal for CL as they were outscored, 38-30 with that killer 4th quarter when Geneva was able to scorch the nets with 24 points and win.
Canyon Lake will be back in action on the last day of the 2020 year when they travel to Comfort for a chance to take a victory as district play begins the second week of January against Boerne.
The Hawks JV were able to beat Hondo on Tuesday and will be in action on Thursday on the road against Comfort.
