Now that the regular season has finished the final Standings are below showing the obvious for Hawk fans that the name Canyon Lake is top of the heap.

GO HAWKS & don’t forget to VOTE!

Look at the overall record which is the experiment for scheduling a tough schedule that came to fruition for, The Lake, in having an unblemished district slate becoming the most important part of these standings.

Canyon Lake will go into their Bi-District against Uvalde this Friday November 11th with a kick-off at 7:00pm. The game will be at Edgewood Veterans Stadium in San Antonio.

The Hawks finished district with the best defense in points and allowing yardage. Rushing defense (118 yds per game district & 129.6 for season) was strong throughout this year.

A bend but don’t break defense in the passing game as there were times CL would give up a long passing play and then not allow a touchdown. That 88 yard pass in that Burnet contest would be one instance for that ‘not breaking’ scenario.

Meanwhile on the offensive side of the ball has these Hawks presently enjoying their most yards per game average (428 yds per game) compared to all previous seasons. That average is 12 yards per game more than the 2016 CL’s team. In district play Canyon Lake increased that total with 464 yards per game.

         Way to GO District Champs!!

The Hawks averaged 109 yards per game via the airways and have already passed the 2017 team that had their best mark during a slot-t era. This is also calculating the stats with one less game played.

Canyon Lake has now joined only 3 other years with getting 200 or more first downs (208 first downs) and trail 2017 with 269 in 13 games and 2020 team’s 239 based on 11 games.

This important stat line translates into an all-time 40-13 record with that 2017 team with a 7-1 record in those 20 or more game history while this year’s team presently owns a, 6-2 mark.

The Lake will now be in their 10th consecutive season reaching the post-season and own an all-time record, 5-6 for Bi-District battles and have averaged 28 points in those contests.

Way to GO HAWKS!!
