Canyon Lake split this week’s contest against Boerne which could play a major role for the final standings and a chance to finish 2nd.

Let’s Go Hawks & Beat the Texans!!

On this night these Greyhounds meant business and The Lake was able to help this home team in securing a victory after gifting 5 errors.

Boerne would have won this contest without those miscues but it did supply some separation that put this game in their win column, 8-1 with ease.

CL lost the series, 2-1 with each having a pitcher being in total control.

Luke Roskin and Landon LeStourgen battled it out in that first game a few weeks back and Boerne came out on top, 2-1.

Then Roskin pitched a one hitter for CL’s victory on Tuesday and LeStourgen returning the favor with his stellar performance against the Hawks on Friday night.

Five singles was all the Lake could muster while Boerne was able to get a lead-off batter on base in those first 5 innings which had the Greyhounds with multiple hits in all but two (5th & 6th) innings and looking at an, 8-0 lead going into those final two innings.

All three of the baseball trinity was in a funk leading to this loss.

                        Beat Wimberley!!

Griffen Williams had the only rbi in the 6th frame as CL had 3 hits and a walk but was not able to realize more than one run scored.

Now the season comes down to seeing if these Hawks can control their own destiny by winning out with an advantage on the tie-breaker tipping to CL based on a, 2-1 series win over Davenport.

Canyon Lake will start next week at Wimberley on Tuesday and Friday followed by ending their district slate with Bandera.

The Hawks will become Greyhound fans these next two weeks when they face Davenport then Wimberley and a Boerne sweep will go a long way in placing CL in that 2nd place slot.

Fredericksburg and Bandera look to be the two schools at the bottom of District 27-4A Standings.

That leaves Davenport-Wimberley-Canyon Lake fighting for those other 3 spots with Boerne looking to be in good shape to repeat as district champions.
