Hawks Ground Rockets in 3-0 Bi-District Win!

Canyon Lake won their first of a three game Bi-District series with SA Kennedy, 3-0. This win will continue tonight at The Lake and a Hawk win would secure an Area battle between the Columbia and Bellville series.

      Time for some Ice Cream HAWKS!!

Pitcher Hunter Anderson allowed two hits while striking out 6 Rockets and Anderson’s 9th win this season.

The win tied Anderson for 2nd place for a season stat list with recent graduate Tanner Schultz and Tyler Pauly (11) has the most during his undefeated pitching season on the mound in 2021.

Canyon Lake has gone 18 innings without giving up a run and Kennedy was shut-out for the first time this season.

These Rockets have allowed just two opponents to score more than 3 runs this season. That statement does not include those 3rd or 4th tournament games that will usually have a team searching for arms that would not be one of those top pitchers on a staff.

Going back to CL’s final win over Wimberley the Hawk’s pitching staff has allowed one run in the last 25 innings of work. During this stretch the staff has given up 11 hits and 7 walks for an impressive dominance.

The Lake’s two inning ending double plays kept these Rockets grounded with no player being able to plant a flag on 2nd base.

Canyon Lake now has 18 double plays this campaign which is 3 more than that 2021 Hawk team who used to hold that record.

Two of the trifecta was on with only the Hawk bats being silent with 4 hits and garnering one walk. But, Canyon Lake made those base runners count in scoring 3 of those 5 base runners.

When putting all those ingredients together you had The Lake playing small ball for 3 runs and leaving themselves needing just one more win to stamp a ticket for an Area round.

First pitch commences at 7:00pm for the first elimination game.
