Baseball: CL starts Comal Tourney and readies for District

When the Spring Sports hit in February, the ReSporter has many plates on the table and it makes getting to all the games a hard venture.
Softball and Baseball with over 20 games for the season would be enough for anyone, but when you add boys and girls Track, Soccer, etc…then you can see how hard getting to all the games can become.
Once again, the help from Mr. Brady has been immeasurable and The ReSporter would like to say Thank-You for your help.
The Hawks lost to Hays Consolidated last Tuesday at Concordia University near Austin.
Canyon Lake is still in a mantra of moving pieces around in order to finding a combination that will work with the start of District 26-3A looming this coming Tuesday at Bandera.
Pitching was decent and the offense had an inside the park homerun when Kyler Huff hit a gapper and had two Consolidated players hitting each other in pursuit of the ball.
The part of the game that will need to improve for Canyon Lake and give them a chance for a longer season in the playoffs will rest on the defense.
Logan Felch pitched a winnable game, but with the four errors, Hays scored three unearned runs that took away the strategy needed from the coaching staff to turn in a win.
“We gave them extra help and they weren’t as good as we made them out to be,” Head Coach Trent Dunavant said. “We did some good things last Tuesday, that we haven’t seen in a while.”
Now Canyon Lake will play four games on Thursday and Friday and to continue the process to see what combinations will work when District starts.
