CL Volleyball Lose to Texans, Backs against the Wall for Playoffs

Canyon Lake backs are against the wall now as this Hawks team will need to win their next two games to have an outside chance of making the playoffs this season.

The loss to front runner Wimberley now leaves Canyon Lake with a must win over second and third place, Fredericksburg and Boerne respectfully.

CL has shown they can compete and win against Bandera and Navarro. Navarro game was lost in the fifth game of the match in their last outing on the road last week.

Moral victories are just that, but this Hawk team did compete at a much higher degree that wasn’t there last time these two teams met over two weeks ago.

Amber Ramsey still had a good game at the net with 10 kills against these Texans.

Other Hawk leaders were Defensive Specialist Hayley Malone with 15 digs while Freshman Halley McKnight led with 16 assists.

Senior Marisa Ellis was tops in two categories, 2.5 blocks and four aces in the match.

Canyon Lake continues their long road trip with another match in Fredericksburg this Friday night. A must win with their backs against the wall.

Canyon Lake JV team also had two competitive games in their match against Wimberley.

Both games came down to the wire. The Hawks just missed on a couple of opportunities leaving them short in this match.

Freshman Bailey Drum was nails on kills during their match. This young player has a lethal kill ratio and will be a force as she continues to learn and perfect her game.

This Junior Varsity team is composed of Sophomores and three Freshman and will be priming the pump as they continue to improve and take the reins in a couple of years.
