Bracken Runs Away from The Winston, 53-8

Bracken Christian stormed Winston with their fifth win and also their fifth mercy game against this Eagle school. BCS ran away with a 53-8 final.

Head Coach Lloyd Fields reached the 50 win hurdle with his stay at Bracken Christian on this night.

It was a complete game for the Warriors as they had their most rushing yards (352) in one half of play.

“We felt this was our second time this year we played very well on both sides of the ball,” Head Coach Lloyd Fields commented. “Our defense took a sabbatical in last week’s game.”

Based on how this school has rushed the ball in the past five, then you will know that this is quite an accomplishment. BCS has won 34 mercy games now with 26 games in a row without being on the losing end.

After a Winston punt on their first series, Bracken was deep in their territory on their two yard line.

A 78 yard run by Eli Achilles and Bracken would not be threatened for the rest of this night.

Achilles has 37 rushing touchdowns so far this year and has reached 1035 yards just on those carries. That averages out to 30 yards per TD run.

Based on the last four years: BCS Records (When The ReSporter started keeping records)
33-2 *When holding opponent under 200 yards passing.
30-3 *When holding opponent under 200 yards rushing.
25-2 *When holding opponent under 300 yards of total yardage.
29-3 *When passing over 55 yards.
32-3 *When rushing over 200 yards.

The Winston’s punter pinned Bracken on their two yard line again for their next series. This time it took five plays for the same result.

Play 1: Preston Koch on a 6 yard run.
Play 2: Eli Achilles on a 5 yard run.
Play 3: Preston Koch on a 2 yard run.
Play 4: Jordan Rohlmeier with a 24 pass and run from Achilles.
Play 5: Eli Achilles ran it in from 30 yards out.
Winston helped out the Warriors cause with two penalties on this drive.

Seven drives and seven touchdowns you can add an interception return in the second quarter and you can see that resistance was futile for The Winston.

Bracken will now find themselves all alone in second place in the district race. BCS holds the tie breaker game over the Eagles with this win.

Bracken will now be concentrating on preparing for their playoff part of this season. By finishing in second, the Warriors will play at a neutral site somewhere between Houston and San Antonio in November.

The opponent will also be a second place team from the Houston district.

Bracken had one injury to Sam Hilgendorf, but there is no word on the extent of that prognosis.

Eli Achilles had to take the snap for the tight offense after the injury.

So things continue to ride like the ocean for this Warrior team.

“We haven’t had any continuity and every time we advance two steps we fall back one,” Coach Fields said. “This hasn’t been a smooth football season.”

“To the credit of our players, they have taken it and keep showing up everyday with a good work ethics…this is not an emotional team.”

Next week, BCS will be in San Antonio again, as they try to find a CASA. You might want to google it so you can check out their basement of the CASA you might want to move to.
