The ReSporter continues the in depth ‘getting to know’ your offensive lineman. We have the thoughts of Junior, 6’2” 190 lbs center, Logan Felch.

Felch was a lot like Wes Dicks in that he played for the Junior Varsity starting the season last year and was moved up during the middle of the season finishing with the Varsity.

It gives you the idea the Coaches knew they were planning for this year by giving these young man experience so the two deep plan could be put into full force for this upcoming season.

Or, the case might be said that these young man were proceeding at a pace to give the Coaches no choice but to pull them up to the Varsity.

Either way, the end result might be something to get ‘excited’ about for this upcoming year.

Felch is one of the players that loses his voice yelling encouragement to the other participants working out. That has been his process this Summer during the Strength and Condition outings.

“Enthusiasm is one of the most important things you can do in working out,” cheerleader Felch said. “You don’t want your teammates to be lethargic.”

Felch played both ways on the Junior Varsity, he played the Defensive End and on the offensive line. Canyon Lake will be utilizing the depth for playing one way more this year, which might also lead to smarter players in the trenches.

“It (playing offensive line) takes a lot more mental focus,” the studious Felch said. “There are more plays you have to learn and getting the blocking schemes down.”

“Playing one way will give us a chance to rest and it won’t wear us out,” Felch continued. “This focus will make the team better.”

The offensive line is ready to make some noise this season and Felch should be the right one to make that a reality based on how he yells in the workouts.

“I’m excited and chomping at the bit,” Felch said ‘excitedly. “I have been ready to play since the Somerset game.”

This makes the first two Lineman the ReSporter has covered using the ‘excited’ phrase.

Felch closed, “We learned against Somerset that you can’t get a second chance….that makes us want to get even faster and stronger.”

The desire you see in these young men’s face will make you……… Excited! Now it will be up to the Coaches to channel the enthusiasm into a positive force on the football field.

The practices begin in a little over five weeks…that was said to get you excited!!
