Hawks take on 26-AAAA and 14-AAAA Monikers for Sports
Canyon Lake will be resetting their GPS as another realignment has been set.
The first item you will notice is another ‘A’ being added to the Hawks classification. Since the school has started competing in sports six years ago, CL was in the AAA class and now will be competing in District 26-AAAA, but that will not mean different sizes of schools.
This year the UIL had all of the 6-Man football teams move into the Class A Division and that was the reason for moving all other Classifications up from AAA to AAAA.
For Football the Hawk district will be made up with the following schools:
District 14-AAAA
Bandera
Boerne
Canyon Lake
Fredericksburg
Liberty Hill
Taylor
The former District lost Wimberley in Navarro for football and added Liberty Hill and Taylor. So, for the most part many of the same teams will stay the same with just those two changes.
For the bigger picture there will be 4 Districts in Region 4 and that will put your first 2 to 3 games with familiar teams for playoffs.
The immediate District to play the qualifiers for District 14-AAAA will be District 13-AAAA which will consist of the following teams.
District 13-AAAA
Burnet
China Spring
Gatesville
Lampasas
Robinson
Waco La Vega
Those two other Districts will be from the South for the most part as Canyon Lake’s district will be up against District 15-AAAA and District 16-AAAA as they advance through the playoff season.

Canyon Lake will add Wimberley and Navarro for Basketball district and this will be their new group of schools they will face next year. This district will probably be all of sports, but that will be revealed later this month.
District 26-AAAA

La Vernia
Wimberley
Yoakum
Basketball and those type of sports will be in this district and a few new towns to find out where their best eating spots will be located.
In this District, the Hawks will lose Fredericksburg, Boerne, and Bandera, which have been together for these past 4 years. Fredericksburg has been in the same district with CL for 6 years now.
The first round of playoff opponents in District 26-AAAA will be:
District 25-AAAA
Burnet
Lampasas
Liberty Hill
Llano
Salado
Taylor
In those next round of playoffs for schools that keep winning will be facing the winners from these two districts.

This scenario has Canyon Lake traveling east towards Houston area before facing teams from the South and Valley area.
All of our geography people are now in their element as they prepare for some new schools to play for the next two years.
Enjoy….
