a decent 4-2 record.

This is a young club and to have some bats coming out of the cave will bode well for a team needing to clamp onto all the positive vibes as this season continues in preparation for District 27-3A play in a few weeks.

Another encouraging development has been in the circle, as Kelsey Ahrens has responded with some innings that will only help by having two pitchers.

Canyon Lake has had one featured pitcher since this school has started play six years ago.

A team is only one play away of having an injury and sending a campaign down the drain just as fast.

Last season Alexis Robinson pitched 90% of the innings and that work load will need to be reduced for CL to have a rested staff during district play.

Three years ago, Canyon Lake finished 2nd in district play when Missy Romero was a Junior and a two game sweep at the hands of Lampasas was realized with a pitcher that had no relief (literally) from the circle.

Those are important components that is not seen this early in a season, but having some help for the work horse will allow that horse to finish a race strong.
