Softball: Hawks Claim First Seed in Blanco Tournament
Canyon Lake finished their first day in the Blanco tournament with a 2-1 record as the Hawks clinched a No. 1 Seed for games on Saturday before play started on the night cap game with Harper.
Comfort was controlled with a shut-out and 10 runs by the good gals.
Other teams in the same bracket beat up on each other which allowed CL to rest players and in their loss to Harper.
In the Johnson City game, the Hawks walked their way to a four run first inning and Alexis Robinson had enough runs to run the table on Johnson City.
Brianna Young is still swinging a hot bat as she had a two run hit as Canyon Lake used their three hits in the right places to secure a win.
Robinson struck out 9 batters while not giving up any earned runs. Which combined in her pitching performance against Comfort showed a player that seems to be in her groove.
Now CL will wait for the other bracket playing on Friday to crown their first and second seed for a final four match up on Saturday.
“We played very well on a long day,” Head Coach John Gallagher stated. “We hurt ourselves in our loss to Harper both offensively and defensively, but our girls showed a lot on intensity and heart today.”
