==============================================

Canyon Lake, with each passing week, continues to whittle down in sports competition for this school year.

Last week, Golf finished their season and now Track & Field will have their District 26-4A Meet this week on Wednesday and Thursday in Cuero.

Yoakum will be the team to beat this season for the Boy’s as this school has quality depth in almost every event.

Canyon Lake Boys are in the middle of the pack but does not have enough points in those distance events to help put them in the upper echelon in district play.

The Girl’s Teams are a little more balanced but at this writing, Wimberley has upped their relay times and have the best times compared to all the district teams.

If Wimberley can duplicate their relay times, then 60 points will go a long way in establishing the Texans as a team to beat.

Wednesday and Thursday will be a busy time for CL as they will trek to Cuero for this year’s meet.

Softball is positioned to grab a playoff spot if they can finish their last three games with a head of steam.

Cutting down on those errors will help as their continues to be a correlation between errors and losses for the Hawks this season.

Baseball is on a can’t lose situation as they have started their second round of games with a loss to Navarro and finished the first round with just one win over winless Gonzales.

With seven teams in District 26-4A, they will have to pass two teams to be placed in the standings with an opportunity to play more games.

Enjoy your week and Go Hawks!!
