The Hawks are in an unfamiliar territory as CL’s Baseball Team will go into a pivotal contest this Tuesday on the road at Bandera. Canyon Lake has a .500 record and have been in this situation once, going back to their maiden voyage into the realm of playoff games during their 2010 campaign.

Hawks Post-Game Talk after their Walk-Off Walk Over Bandera
Canyon Lake had a walk off-walk off win over the Bandera Bulldogs when Matt Anderson finished off the game with a bases loaded walk that scored Mason Lee for the win, 3-2.

Canyon Lake’s JV Softball finished this game by having their first six players in their last inning reach base scoring 5 runs and winning the game against Bandera JV, 7-6.

A storm without the rain, just missed the Hawk Nest during Canyon Lake’s game with Bandera but there were some sightings of Softball Size Hail pounding just outside the outfield fence which would spur CL to a, 13-9 win over the Bulldogs.

The ReSporter: What are your thoughts on how this season has gone up to the week before the District Meet?

Track and Field Coach Troy Moses
Coach Moses: “We have had a very successful season thus far.”
The ReSporter: Why do the Hurdle Events have so many Hawk athletes wanting to compete in them?
Coach Moses: “That’s where we feel we can make up points on other teams. We want everybody running the hurdles, then we will move athletes away from them as the coaches figure out what events they’ll excel in.”

Canyon Lake will continue their trek for a chance of being the 4th Hawk Team with a District Championship as their win over Fredericksburg last week has giving them an inside track inside track for realizing this dream.
The Bandera Bulldogs are tied with Fredericksburg for 2nd place in District 28-4A play and will be out to be tied for 1st Place with a win.
