Canyon Lake’s 10th year of competition will get started this week as the 3 Fall Sports start preparing for competition.
The Hawk’s Volleyball squad will have a scrimmage against Blanco on Friday while both the Cross Country and Football crews will start their first week of getting in shape coming this Monday.

Head Volleyball Coach Kim Paisley
Canyon Lake will be starting up their sports with the Volleyball team when the Hawks will be taking on the Alumni Hawks on August 3rd.
Volleyball has the best record for any sport at Canyon Lake and will look to continue that mantra this year with a team returning several starters and other players that had some 1st place finishes with those Sub-Varsity teams this past year.

Hawks Strike a Pose for what they hope will be many more this upcoming Season.
Canyon Lake’s Volleyball Summer team won the San Marcos Summer league last week as this crew of players jump start the expectations on what might be another banner season.
The Hawks entered the tournament as the #3 seeded team and faced off with the #1 seed and undefeated Seguin in round two.

Ok, The ReSporter will come out of hibernation to help the football junkies get through the dog days of Summer.
Do note that The ReSporter does not have team stats for that first year and for the record, the Hawks first game with Blanco will be the 100th game played.
Head Boy’s Soccer Coach Ryan Tierney
Canyon Lake played musical chairs with their Soccer Coaches as Ryan Tierney the girls coach will now be moving to the Boy’s Soccer team after Head Coach Warren Graham will be stepping down.
Coach Graham had a great 4 year run for the team but his family took priority and providing for them caused the decision for leaving after school is finished.
The Hawks had improved immeasurably during the Coach Graham’s tenure as it has been mentioned in previous articles as the win totals had doubled during those four campaigns from a 2 win first year to finish in the Sweet 16 this past season. A 2-1 loss to Progresso will give you an idea of how close this team was to making the Elite 8 in the Start of Texas.

If you would like to know the best team sport in the halls of Canyon Lake then come out and watch some Hawk Volleyball this season starting in August.
During the beginning of Canyon Lake’s school if their would be one team that would deserve to start their year in the dumps it would have to be Volleyball.

Mountain Valley Middle School Softball team finished 2nd for their completed season a few weeks ago after suffering a 4-0 blanking at the hands of Canyon Middle School.
