Canyon Lake (5-2) split their two games to open the Comal Tournament yesterday at Hawk Diamond.

Once again this Hawk team is starting to show that depth might be able to give CL a chance for each game they play.
Logan Felch is the ace of this bullpen and will only see a couple of innings due to a start against Fredericksburg next Tuesday night to open District 27-3A play.
Usually that would mean a drop off for other games due to depth problems on the mound.
Ryan Hutcheson took his first loss with giving up two runs and two hits to Lehman in the first game.
“We had costly error and stranded some runners,” Head Coach Trent Dunavant said. “Did not play badly but we just could not seem to get that timely hit.”
Canyon Lake had three hits but the most glaring number in this loss were those three errors.
It was a different story in CL’s game with El Paso Parkland as they scored in every inning but one and amassed 12 hits in this win.
Take the more important number and you will really make sense with this victory, one error.
Senior Travis Walker pitched a gem in this contest as he scattered six hits while giving up only three runs.
Meanwhile in the other dugout Canyon Lake found their real bats and had several extra base hits to bury the EP Matadors.
“We played really well in this game,” Coach Dunavant commented.
