Junior Right Guard Wes Dicks

The ReSporter wants to do enough articles on the offensive line that the fans can know these players like they might know the Quarterback or any of the other skilled positions.

The players and Coaches know that games are won in the trenches yet these are the players that are not at the head of the line when reporters are clamoring for interviews after hard fought games.

A hefty dose of one on one interviews with the offensive line throughout the rest of the Summer will be the only positions on the field that does not have a stat line that can be reported on.

Second Baseman Alex Henderson

One of the most improved players this season is second baseman Alex Henderson. Henderson leads the team with a .385 batting and .912 fielding percentage.

Alex’s confidence coming to the plate is not hard to see. She bats first in the lineup, which allows her to set the table for the other players to score runs.

Henderson’s on base percentage is just what Coach Gallagher wants in a lead off hitter. She has jets for shoes and is successful with a .443% rate. (more…)

Player Profile: Katy Payne

katypayne“And now coming to bat is Katy the Pain Train,” as Stephanie Langenberg Introduces the players for the next at bat.

Katy Payne has been a fixture for the Hawks and has to her credit the one and only homerun in the short history for Canyon Lake.

The hit came last year in a 12-1 victory over Navarro….she made it count too, as the hit was a Grand Slam. (more…)

The first stop will be from the circle as we look at Junior Pitcher Missy Romero.

Pitcher for a softball team has been the pivotal player for any team, because of the chance of dominating the game with strikeout power. This aspect had been adjusted this year when UIL moved the circle back three feet to the same distance as the college game. (more…)
