Saturday, March 19th, 2011The Hawks won their first game ever against the Wimberley Texans last Friday afternoon at the Hawks Softball Diamond.
Pitcher Missy Romero pitched with confidence as she threw only 35 pitches in the middle innings allowing the opportunity to pitch stronger in the heat when the latter innings came calling.
What was the reason for the confidence? How about the simple number that tells about errors in a game? There were none!! (more…)

Saturday, March 12th, 2011The Canyon Lake Hawks lost their first district game last Friday against the Bandera Bulldogs, 2-0.
When asked Head Coach John Gallagher the one word description of the game…..
“Heartbreaker”, he said.

Softball: Hawks Start District with Win over Boerne 3-2
Wednesday, March 9th, 2011The Hawks have won five times the last two years in District play. The wins were bunched up between just two schools—Ingram and Llano.
Canyon Lake can now add Boerne to that list after gutting out a hard fought game on the road last Tuesday night in Boerne.
The day did not start well for the Hawks. Missy Romero the pitching ace was battling some health issues and to add to that was a defense that was battling the softball after committing five errors in the first two innings allowing the Greyhounds to take a 2-0 lead. (more…)

Hawks Softball Passes Last Year’s Win Total
Friday, February 25th, 2011The Canyon Lake Softball team has already passed last year’s win total and we are still in February. The Hawks pasted Blanco Panthers last Friday at Hawk Field by a score of 7-1.
Pitcher Missy Romero won her fifth game of the young season as she hit the spots around the plate leaving most of the Blanco line-up guessing at the plate. (more…)
Softball: Then and Now
Thursday, February 24th, 2011The Canyon Lake Softball team has not had a lot of momentum in the past few years. The team is one of the few team sports without a Junior Varsity team, which does not give the athletes the opportunity to play teams in the same age bracket.
The Junior Varsity Football team finished the season undefeated, but few would argue that the team would of been undefeated playing varsity teams this past season. The Hawks have played seven games going into this weeks Tuesday night game at the Hawks diamond. (more…)
Hawks win Important Game, 7-4
Monday, February 21st, 2011
Tiffany Arredondo
The Hawks raced to a lead in the first inning and held on for one of the more impressive wins in the short history of the program, against San Antonio Roosevelt Rough Riders at the Hawk diamond.
The Rough Riders came into the game with a 4-1 record and also had the important 5A at the end of their name. Roosevelt competes with the largest high school classification and the Hawks introduced them to a lower Grade 3A. (more…)
