BCS Volleyball takes Rock out of the Arch
Friday, August 12th, 2011The Bracken Christian were successful in taking the keystone out of the arch for the eventual fall, as the Warriors beat Keystone, 25-12, 25-14, 25-11.
BCS was ahead 7-6 when the stone was taken away in the first game, as the Warriors scored 18-6 finish for the convincing win.
“I want the girls to always finish no matter what,” Head Coach Shaunna Teuton said. “But, we have plenty to work on.”
Always leave it to the Coach to throw some water on the party to give the players more room to grow and mature as the season progresses.

Flag on the Play
Friday, August 12th, 2011A Weekly Article by First Year Official Johnny Ivie
Was that Intentional?
I hope you are getting ready for the upcoming football season as much as I am. I know, like every year, it will hold all kinds of excitement and surprises. I for one love the build up, the thoughts of what if, and the wonderful end to the looooong break away from the greatest sport on earth. My oldest son, Noah is starting his first football season and I was surprised this past weekend to see how well he performed in the grass drills he participated in. He is going into a draft for a Youth Football League and I potentially could officiate one of his games. I am even more excited about this year and hope that I will be able to.
BCS wins in 5 over TMI San Antonio
Friday, August 12th, 2011Bracken Christian finally finished and persevered over the Panthers of TMI, 25-21, 23-25, 26-28, 25-23, 15-10.
The Warriors played with the lead in each game but had problems finishing two of the games after being in the lead. The fact the Warriors reached the 23 point plateau usually meant that they had hit a road block.
“We just have to push to the finish,” Head Coach Shaunna Teuton said. “In practice we tell them they have to finish and we do harder drills that will give them more aggressiveness and intensity.”
Hawks Scrimmage Dripping Springs Saturday 8:30am
Thursday, August 11th, 2011“We are way ahead of where we were last year at this time,” Coach Monzingo surmised. “We are two or three deep before there is any drop off.”
That statement allows the Coaches a lot of freedom to mix and match the team for both sides of the ball.
This is the classic for the coaches where they asked the class to read some books before the players came back to school after the summer months. The team would be telling the coaches that they not only read what was assigned, but also went to the library to get extra books read.

Bracken refuses to play Bracken
Thursday, August 11th, 2011The Bracken Christian Warriors will not play BCS this year once the scrimmages start this Friday.
“The kids are tired of practices,” Head Coach Lloyd Fields said. “This is the chance to prove what you can do.”
The Warriors will be playing Lometa and look forward to having the chance of hitting someone that they don’t know. Bracken will be looking for the chance of seeing where the team stacks up against a team that finished 7-4 last season in the UIL division.

CL split contest with Liberty Hill and Cedar Ridge
Wednesday, August 10th, 2011The good news is that the CL Hawks beat Liberty Hill.
The better news is that the Hawks are not in Cedar Ridge’s District
Canyon Lake started their Volleyball season with a nail biter win over Liberty Hill last Tuesday night at the Hawk Gym.
The Hawks had lost a ton of talent from last year’s team, but seem to have a group of girls that want to help the crowd forget the past and forge into the future. (more…)
