Bracken Christian’s Football Schedule

The Bracken Christian Warriors will embark on a season where they get fitted for a bulls eye, that will be displayed on their jersey.

The Warriors will be playing a year in which they will be defending their  State Championship.

The Canyon Lake field house does not take a vacation like the main school hall will be during the Summer.

The Hawks have 60-80 students in attendance every night but Friday during the Month of June and July.

The Coaches split up with their responsibilities when the students break up into three separate groups for the evening of ‘fun’.

Coaches with the easiest job has to be the ones in the weight room.
Yes, the students are working hard, but they are inside. The three groups will rotate every 30 minutes are so during the workouts.

Canyon Lake All-Around Athletes 2010-11 Season

allaroundCanyon Lake High School had a very successful year in sports this past season, and awarded the coveted All-Around accolades to the female and male athletes for each grade classification.

The Hawks went two rounds in the football playoffs while the girls were highlighted by the first playoff run for the Softball team.

Many of the other sports continue to be impressive. Volleyball to Track and Field have all shown the students in the Canyon Lake area strive to be the best they can be in all facets of their lives.

Hawks Softball Passes Last Year’s Win Total

The Canyon Lake Softball team has already passed last year’s win total and we are still in February. The Hawks pasted Blanco Panthers last Friday at Hawk Field by a score of 7-1.

Pitcher Missy Romero won her fifth game of the young season as she hit the spots around the plate leaving most of the Blanco line-up guessing at the plate. (more…)

Introduction: Where Sports is a Passion not a Job

The remains of The Hilltop Reporter are not gone yet. The Drs. Found a pulse and now we will be operating as a Sports Page only.

Why? Look at the papers around the area and you will see the Canyon Lake Hawks don’t get a lot (if any) coverage. In fact, since the Hilltop Reporter started three years ago the team and school got more coverage than they had previously.

Competition will do that sometimes. This is where the phrase above got its emphasis.

Going to sporting events and being in the Press box with other writers covering the Hawks, I found that the writers were more concerned with their date for the weekend than the actual game they were watching. (more…)
