Bracken Christian Warriors will face Sugar Land Logos Prep Lions once again this year in their first round of playoffs. The game will be this Saturday in Rockdale, starting at 2:00pm.
In the first game, this BCS win was almost a full game. There was still more than four minutes remaining when the 45th point difference was scored in this game.
The Warriors doubled Logos Prep’s yardage and also doubled their first downs.
Some differences from the two games. Arnold Adame was lost for the season since that game and that loss has been huge hole for Bracken to continue trying to fill.
Coaches Corner with Lloyd Fields
Tuesday, November 13th, 2012The ReSporter: Hey Coach Fields, you are playing a team

Head Coach Lloyd Fields
Coach Fields: “They have not changed a whole lot since that first game, I do know that they are executing a lot better.”
The ReSporter: What type of defense have they been playing?
Coach Fields: “Their defense has a three man front and three defensive backs. They will use their speed to run you down. This team is one of the fastest, if not the fastest in six-man football. So, they have found a good way to play to their strengths.”
The ReSporter: Compare what happened in the first game and how will you work with your team this week in practice.

BCS Takes Care of Business in Beating OLH, 60-14
Saturday, November 10th, 2012Bracken Christian finished their regular season with three years running of having at most, just one defeat.

Davis Scott and Eli Achilles will be preparing for Playoffs this week.
Running backs, Preston Koch and Eli Achilles had their second consecutive game where both runners finished with over 100 yards rushing.
Bracken also scored in various ways, running, receiving, interception return, and kick-off return. Pretty much a complete game in all aspects.
Eli Achilles started things off with a 68 yard interception return for a touchdown.
OLH had the ball for the first 14 plays of the game and the only thing this Hawk team could claim was zero points on the board.
Bracken Christian then responded with their longest drive of the game, going 74 yards on seven plays.
Every play but their final run of three yards was an 11 yard or more run, by Koch or Achilles. This drive had Koch with 42 yards and Achilles with two runs for 32 yards.
Eight drives and eight scores for BCS.
A perfect strike from Achilles to Davis Scott for 58 yards was the Warriors next score after a 10 yard run from Mason Anthony.

Wednesday, November 7th, 2012The ReSporter:Hello Coach Fields, I would like to know if OLH Hawks are a

Head Coach Lloyd Fields
better team than the one that played earlier this season.
Based on their game with Seguin Lifegate when they lost 50-0…that game seems to standout based on their body of work.
Coach Fields: “They have a whole new coaching staff and that will always throw a team behind. They started the season in a transitional position and so based on having a full season by now, I can say they are a better team than the one that took the field against Lifegate.”
The ReSporter: You have a short week after playing a late game on Saturday. What is the make up of your team this week as they prepare for OLH?
Coach Fields: “This is kind of a rivalry game for us. The loser of this game will either finish third or fourth (OLH) in district. It is also the last home game for the Seniors and end of an era for most of the kids.”

There has been some classic games against Kerrville OLH from past years.
One such game played in 2009 was the last time Bracken had lost at home.
OLH had more in their tank in that contest as they poured it on in the second half and pulled away from a Bracken team that was on an 8 game winning streak and had a lot of momentum going into the post season.
Then in 2010, BCS returned the favor and narrowly escaped with a nine point win in Kerrville which allowed the Warriors to play a home playoff game while OLH would be relegated to a tougher road in the playoffs.
In fact, Bracken met up with OLH again that year in the third round of those playoffs.
It was a classic game that went into overtime with Bracken intercepting a pass that put your Warriors into their championship game and eventual TAPPS Trophy against Dallas Covenant.
Last year, Kerrville OLH and Bracken was battling for a District crown and the Warriors ‘Mercy’ gamed the visitors on this go around, 79-34. It was a 24th game winning streak for Bracken that got them eventually into another final four round.

Bracken Wins Feverishly over Emery-Weiner, 51-19
Saturday, November 3rd, 2012
Eli Achilles changes uniform colors during game in win over Emery-Weiner, 51-19
After a two hour rain delay, Bracken Christian ran a fever over the Jags from Houston Emery-Weiner last Saturday, 51-19.
With some players coming out after some sickness, time was not offered as a remedy as the Warriors went to work on a rainy afternoon.
Eli Achilles had 26 yards after his first four carries which for most contests would of been a recipe for over 50 yards and two touchdowns. All Achilles had to show for those four carries was sweat and knowing this would be a different opponent.
Emery-Weiner is an independent private school that has enough players to be classified as an 11-man team, but since they play 6-man instead then are relegated to playing without a District to compete in.
Hence, Bracken’s worst fears wear realized when this game went four quarters and a difference of playing styles.
E-W would have a defensive and offensive team. Coaches would be able to teach and instruct what needed to be done before that particular unit would re-enter the game.
Conversely, BCS would look at several of their offensive or defensive players and tell them to stay out on the field simply because they do not have that luxury for substitutions.
After stalling on their first drive, Bracken’s defense, also allowed just one first down before the Jaguars ran out of downs on the Warriors 35 yard line.
The second time was a charm as four more running plays for 23 yards and one pass to Preston Koch for 22 yards payed off for a Bracken lead, 6-0.
With the first quarter coming to a close, BCS had just 49 yards rushing and those 22 yards of passing offense.
