Canyon Lake will be battling the Gonzales Apaches this Tuesday in a Bi-District Battle.
The Lady Hawks will have a chance of being the first Hawk team to go to the 2nd round with a win. Canyon Lake finished their season with a sparkling record of 29-6 which is 10 more wins than their best season played during the 2009-10 campaign. That Hawk team lost their Bi-District game to Lytle 49-47 and now CL will have a chance this year after winning District 28-4A Title and go into this year’s playoff season with a #1 Seed.
Gonzales finished 4th in their district and will be looking for an upset. The Hawks are ranked in the Top 25 in two State Polls. The Hawk defense is the key to the game tonight as 27 of the 35 games has seen CL’s opponent not reach more than 40 points in a game.

The ReSporter: What are your initial thoughts after your first scrimmages?
Coach Gallahger:“I was happy with how we played for our first scrimmage. Our varsity players played strong defense and all our pitchers threw pretty consistent. We rotated three catchers who did a good job as well. We didn’t hit as well as I would have liked but with a mixture of four lineups going it was hard to get a lot of at bats for any one player. We had some key hits and showed some power early on.” (more…)
