Canyon Lake’s, Kat Weber, will be taking her bat and glove to College as she signed to attend Trinity University next year playing softball this past week.

Weber was a mainstay for CL during her career on the diamond as this young lady locked down the catcher position the past 3 seasons after following Brianna Young and Katy Payne.

Next up for this year’s Top Ten was how well CL’s Football game with Austin Akins.

Canyon Lake had started the year strong but suffered two losses in a row and not knowing what a 6A team would bring to the table had some concerns for coaches and fans.

Akins was not a formidable team but drawing from many more students might pose a problem before games started in district play next up.

Sunday, May 7th, 2017

CL Hawks might be seeing this portrait for many future Meets as Skylar Hurst and Audrey Schulze take the podium.                      (photo by Karen Holmes)

The Track Season came to a close as Canyon Lake failed to have any of their Region Meet qualifiers able to make another step to the State Meet held in Austin this week.

That is not to say that this year’s version of Track & Field was a flop, but a quite different sensation for the Hawk athletes as there were many firsts for this season that will make next year’s season a, ‘can’t wait’, aspect.
