Boy’s Soccer Add another Win (8-3), over Floresville, 4-0

Michael Carpenter dribbles ball to give the offense another chance for a goal in Win over Floresville

The Boy’s Soccer Team won their 8th game last Friday matching their win total from last season with a, 4-0 victory over Floresville.

Another game with an abundance of players getting into the act with goals and assists.

At this same time last season, Canyon Lake, had a 4-4 record compared to a sparkling 8-3 count this year.

“I feel we are more team-oriented this year,” Head Coach Warren Graham commented. “We are moving the ball well and playing great defense….the boys are unselfish and that was very evident tonight.”

Players that scored a Goal: Mason Blackburn Grayson Rohrbacher
                                             Jordan Sczech Nash Young

Players that helped with an Assist: James Alexander Matthew Bell
                                             Richard Rosas

Hawks takes no Bull from Opponents!! Go Hawks

“There were chances for us to score a few more goals,” Coach Graham said. “But the boys did not want to take shots when a teammate might have had a better opportunity.”

This was the Hawks 4th shut-out of the season after allowing La Vernia 3 goals in that win on Tuesday.

Floresville did not have many opportunities for offense but when they did attack the Hawk’s goal, Brayden Damico and Justin Naranjo came through in flying colors.

Damico saved one shot on goal and Naranjo had two saves during his stint at the net.

CL will pay a visit to La Vernia this Tuesday and then welcome San Marcos Academy to town on Friday as the team has just 3 more games before district heats up.

The San Marcos Academy will be the Hawks last home game before the first district game comes to town in the name of Boerne, on February 10th.

Canyon Lake has passed their all-time goals for a season in the last game and now hold a firm grip on that record as this season matures.

Congrats and Go Hawks!!
