Canyon Lake’s week had some good and not so good things happen this past week so starting with the not so good happenings, so we can end on more positive notes.
Baseball started district 0-2 with games against Fredericksburg and Wimberley and being more consistent on offense and that would certainly help with the future game coming up as there will be two road games in Llano on Tuesday and Friday in Fredericksburg.
CL’s baseball has the players to turn this around and hopefully that will transpire starting this week when the Hawks take on the Yellowjackets.
Softball started the week on the wrong side in losing to the district front-runner (Billies) and then rebounded starting in the 3rd inning in a comeback win over 2nd ranked Bandera at the Hawk Nest. The game produced some strong bats and that might get this team on a roll as the 2nd round of district starts on Tuesday when Boerne comes to the Hawk Nest.
Track & Field and Golf will have their district finals this week and the good news is hosting the district on Wednesday and Thursday.
Golf has it tough as they will travel to Bandera on Monday and then off to Fredericksburg on the links enjoying the scenery and weather. That is a tough life….
The Lady Soccer team concluded their season with a loss against Liberty Hill last week but this is a very young group of ladies and this team will have a chance of bigger and better season’s in the future.
Boy’s Soccer has advanced to an Area battle on Tuesday against Bellville after coming back from a 2 goal deficit in the 2nd half against Lampasas. Spotting the 2 goals for the Badgers might have the Hawks in having a better 1st half as this year has seen the 2nd half being the strongest for CL’s defense and offense.
With a win, The Lake, will be right back in action later in the week and The ReSporter will keep the Hawk Nation updated.
Right now, Canyon Lake’s location for their Tuesday game has not been set so this article will be updated when that is settled on Monday.
Josh Almond finished in 7th place for the State Weightlifting Meet last week. The ReSporter has an article to help fill you in on this great accomplishment.
Make a mental note of knowing the District Track Meet will be lived streamed on Thursday starting at 4:00pm.
A busy week of action and a lot will happen at HawkLand, come out and support the Hawks!!
