Taylor Ducks Forfeit Game with Canyon Lake Hawks

Canyon Lake’s football game this weekend will go down as a forfeit after the Taylor Duck’s reported that they would not play based on covid protocol.

“The game will be a forfeit,” Head Coach Charley Drum stated. “The game will be scored as a 17-0 win in order to not penalize us on tie-breaker rules at the end of the season.”

District 13-4A has as one of their rules in order of breaking a tie between two or more teams where the score would be added up based on how bad a team was beaten or won a game.

That number cannot go over 17 points to help keep teams from running up scores in order to be that higher seeded school.

This also changed the times for this Friday’s Volleyball game that had the Varsity playing in the 5pm time slot so those young ladies would be able to be present for Homecoming festivities.

Now those contests will moved back to their regular times where the Junior Varsity and Freshman both play at 5pm and then the Varsity will take the court after that JV game has been decided.

Coach Drum was busy rescheduling both sub-varsity games and today will see the Freshman travel to Steele High School to face their Freshman B squad with the kick-off at 5:00pm.

Canyon Lake’s Junior Varsity will be battling the Billies JV in Fredericksburg starting at 6:30pm.

And as always Go Hawks!!
