Just the facts, will give you an idea of this week’s Standings Article after both Softball and Baseball still look for their first district win.

NEW ADVERTISER THAT IS READY TO MILK SHAKE YOU UP!  Go HAWKS!!

Softball lost a gut wrenching game after coming back from a 6-1 deficit and then a 4 run lead that was lost in with a sea of errors where hits were not not needed for a Wimberley team that just had to get on base. Then watch a merry-go-round of runs via errors and passed balls and wild pitches….etc. etc.

This game turned to a win that turn one more time to an eventual loss. This was the first district contest for Softball but the foe was not one of the schools that was expected to finish at the top of the standings when the season closes.

That is what made this loss a little more painful. The Ladies will be at Fredericskburg this Tuesday and then a home game against the favorite to finish first against Boerne.

Go Lady Hawks & Beat the Billies!!

Very seldom dose baseball find that they are 3 games into their district before softball gets going but a new format for hard-ball has each team playing each team once before the teams go to a two game per week mantra to finish this season.

It’s a format that makes breaking a tie breaker much easier since each team will have at least one more win or loss than their opponent.

After these first three games, The Lake, is still looking for their first win and finds themselves all alone in last place. Looking at their standings below you have Fredericksburg and Davenport (two of the teams that beat the Hawks) both with, 1-2 records.

                   Make it Count Hawks!!

So this presents a hurdle that will require CL to sweep the next round of games against these two schools to win a tie breaker and squeeze into a post-season opportunity.

Yes, Canyon Lake can finish higher but it will require the Hawks little room for ‘error’ in finishing this year’s schedule.

The Baseball team will welcome Wimberley to the Hawk Nest for Tuesday before finishing the first round part of their district schedule on the road in Bandera this Friday.

Let’s Go Baseball & Softball!!
