Track & Field Continues to Forge Forward as District Meet Looms

The Lady Hawks had more PR’s in last week’s Wimberley Texan Track Meet, but having a spring break in between those last two meets did have several athletes taking a step backwards with their marks.

This weeks meet will be at Pieper and seeing those marks start to come back to pre spring break times will show what might be in store for CL when district comes calling in a couple of weeks.
The Lady Hawks Varsity placed 4th with 90 points. Coach Sami Theurer continues to place ladies in different events which should give her a good indication on where those strengths and weaknesses and forming the best lineup.
“I feel like we really did well at the track meet,” Coach Theurer said. “Our girls worked hard and we put some new relays out on the track last night that showed up and recorded a few really good times.”
Coach Theurer continued, “Our JV 4×400 relay earned another gold (Coburn, Kearney, Davidson, Zabarcencu) last night and our Varsity 4×200 relay (Ortez, Savanna Olberholtzer, Lentz, Lightfoot) set the new school record. One more meet before district and the girls are putting win the time and effort to get faster and stronger! Go Hawks!”
CL’s Varsity Boys continue to search for athletes who can score points as they finished last totaling 11 points. At this time the Boys best events are coming from their distance runs.

Both the Boys & Girls Track squads are producing no points in the discus and shot-put events. In face, except for a few athletes the Field Events have been a disappointment with very few points.
Yes, Savanna Olberholtzer along with CL’s pole vault tandem of Alencia Lentz & Coby Mickey has been making new highs for all-time results but that well comes up dry when adding many points from those 5 events.
