Hawk Ladies Basketball Win 2 Games at Baytown Tourney
Marley Christian drains a shot in Hawks comeback win against Sterling at the Baytown Tourney.
Canyon Lake Lady Basketball started their first week with a 3-2 record and finished the Baytown Tournament with a 2-2 slate.

The Lake finished their tourney with a come from behind win over Sterling in coming back after being down 10 points in the 3rd Quarter, 34-24 with 3:27 remaining during the 3rd frame.
It was the Hawk defense that clamped down on the Rangers allowing just 4 points in that final stanza as The Lake started staging their comeback with 1 minute remaining in the 3rd quarter when Sophia George sand 2 free throws that was followed with a Reese Coburn 3 pointer after an assist from Marley Christian that brought CL needing just 3 points for a tie.
Sterling scored their only basket with 36 seconds remaining as CL played keep-a-way for the win.
During the tournament it was the Goose Creek game that saw George finish with 43 of the 53 points that CL needed for this 13 point win, 53-39.
Christian finished with her personal best of 8 assists and Mya Vorhis corralled 12 rebounds in that win.
It was a combination of forcing 24 steals while cleaning the offensive glass to the tune of 20 boards for the victors.

On Tuesday it started with The Lake losing a lead to St. Mary but this group of scrappers were able to right that ship and win two of their final 3 battles in the Baytown tournament.
Canyon Lake will enter the Cornerstone Tourney starting on Thursday of this week and a chance for more learning for the long season ahead.
