Lady Hawks Basketball’s Sojourn Reaches Mid-Point of Season

Morgan Bebee gets shot off as Makenna Myers is ready if needed for a rebound in Hawk win earlier this season.

The Lady Hawks Basketball team finished last week’s contest with a win and loss but, with some high powered deciphering glasses, you could certainly see some upgraded degrees of playing especially on the defensive side of the ball.

                           Go Hawks!!

A win over to Blanco (52-41) that started the week followed with a 2 point loss against a 14-2 Pieper Warriors (47-45) team on the road.

In that contest you can draw some ideas of where theses Lady Hawks are based on schools in district and level of competition.

Peiper beat Davenport 60-48 and will play Cornerstone this week which was a team that had CL’s number in that loss.

The Warriors’ wins have been by an averaged of 23 points and those two losses were to Smithson Valley and Johnson by a total of 25 points.

With wins against Edinburg (16-2), Sotomayor (12-4). West Oso (11-5) and New Braunfels who sports a (10-8) record.

Canyon Lake shot 28% from the floor and bad day from the free throw line missing 13 shots finishing with a 46% from the stripe.

                      Let’s GO HAWKS!!

The Lake will tip-off against Lockhart (8-6) on the road this Tuesday before district commencing the next Tuesday December 12th against Navarro at the Hawk Nest.

Coach Lauren Perez gave her thoughts as this season reaches the mid-point, “We have been playing well as a team, and we have glimpses of really showing our true potential. Our focus and goal is to always improve for district. Everyone likes to win, but we are in a very competitive district and have to keep our eyes forward and not settle on these games. Each game we know our goal is to work for consistency, so that we can continue to close gaps with our district competitors. We haven’t hit our peak, so that is exciting as we start to reach our district opener.”

Come out and see this Hawk club as they work on putting teams on notice this season,

Go Hawks!!
