                             Let’s GO LAKE!

Canyon Lake kept their hold on second place in District 26-4A after sweeping through last week’s contests that included the last & first game of round play.

Both wins were significant in getting a win over Davenport (2-1) the first in 3 games and taking care Fredericksburg (3-1) last Friday sweeping the Billies.

The Lake has an all-time 15-10-4 record and will continue this week at Bandera on Friday.

In CL’s contest with Freddie, was a fast start with 3 goals scored during the first 17 minutes of that first half and gave up one goal the second stanza at the 35 minute mark but held serve the rest of this game and win, 3-1.

                             GO LAKE!

It was a Bella Biasatti ~ Savanna Oberholtzer volley with each player either scoring or giving the other an assist.

That first goal had a flawless pass by Callie Dominguez to Biasatti to Oberholtzer that gave Canyon Lake a lead they would never relinquish at the 38:45 mark.

Two more goals at the 32 & 23 minute would give The Lake a dominating first half of action.

It was that second half the Billies would continued to press but CL’s back row with newcomer Cierra Marsh continued turning back those Freddie attacks and an eventual win.

The rankings below show just how hard it is for entities to be able to grasp schools that play 500 miles from each other with few common opponents for the eye test.

One ranking now has just Wimberley 3rd and CLHS 6th with 3 of those district foes falling past that 25th spot. Certainly a result of battling each other with a loss or win and sliding in rankings.

There is one other 4A district with 2 schools being highly ranked with a fall out with those other schools in that same district.

Right now the point totals have Wimberley leading with 21 points while The Lake reaching 18 points. As for the rest of this group of teams has 4 schools fighting for those other 2 spots in hopes of making the playoffs.

Davenport 10 points
Long Creek 9 points
Fredericksburg 7 points
Marble Falls 5 points

This shows how close these 4 schools are for making or missing post-season.

As for Canyon Lake? A playoff clinching game is right around the corner.
Way to GO LAKE!
