The Lake Ladies Win Hawk Relays as Boys Finish 4th
Savanna Oberholtzer scored 38 points as The Lake’s Ladies Won Hawk Relays.
Way to make some Good Marks!
The Hawk Relays had beautiful weather for the 8 schools in attendance as these conditions led to The Lake’s Ladies to either PR their top ten spot or move past former athletes.
CL’s Ladies finished first with 152 points that had 7 Hawks in double digit points led by Savanna Oberholtzer’s 38 points in her 5 events.
She was followed by Kennedy Grindle who scored 27 pts in 4 events, Te’a Gonzales & Aubrey Avey both finished with 20 points.
Eva Zabarcencu and Sophie Eastland had 12 points each and Shana Cutrer with 13 points.
Mia Zabarcencu had 8.5 points that involved a 2nd place in the open 400 dash and being part of the 4×400 relay who finished in 6th place.

Seven of the 18 events had Hawks leading or placing first.
In the 4×100 (by 0.01) & 4×200 (by 0.27) relays CLHS broke last year’s relays times that qualified for Austin.
Kennedy Grindle is now just one inch from passing Jessica Cunningham for 2nd place in the Pole-Vault and now has the 4th best 300 meter hurdle event.
Grindle and Shana Cutrer are 3rd & 4th respectfully now in the 100 meter hurdle race.
Freshman Sophie Eastland stands in 3rd place in the 3200 Meter Run and 4th place in the 1600 Meter Run.

Mia Zabarcencu moved into 8th place after her 2nd place finish for the 400 meter dash.
Te’a Gonzales went to the top of the class after winning the 200 meter dash besting Ayren Lightfoot by 2 tenths of a second.
CL’s Ladies JV were led by Georgia Schexnayder’s 19 points scored in 5 events.
Madison Matheney scored 8 points with 4th place finishes in the 800/1600 meter runs with Julia Pena getting her 8 points finishing 2nd in her High Jump event.

Canyon Lake’s Boys had more meat on their bone this week with some decent showings when Anthony Hockman won the High Jump with a 6’2 mark.

While Gipson Cover improved from last week with PR’s in the 3200/1600 runs as Peyton King scored 8 points in 3 events for The Lake and a 5th place showing as a team.
CL’s JV copied the Varsity with at 4th place in the Standings with 3 Hawk’s winning an event.
Gage Jones was first in his 200 Meter Dash, Frazier Zach won the Discus, and Jacob Stahla won in his 110 Meter Hurdles event.
The Lake’s Track Team will be at the Panther Relays (Navarro) with a 1:00pm start time February 26th.
