It starts!!  This is one of the busiest times for The ReSporter as more sports are added to the Volleyball season that has been playing for real these last two weeks.

No more scrimmages and run throughs for all the teams as this season is for real now.

First off, CL’s Volleyball team now sports a 10-7 record after losing 5 games to some stalwart teams that reside at the largest classification in TAPPS or UIL.

The Volleyball team did get pay back when they beat Clemens in the NEISD tourney and that will go a long way in defining what this Hawk team will perform as the season continues.

District will start September 15th and CL will have another tournament in San Marcos this week as well as two games playing Fredericksburg and Blanco.

Don’t let that, 10-7 record fool you as this Hawk team is looking good going into this week and should hopefully add some more wins to their resume when next week comes calling.

The Hawk Cross Country team will also unveil their season in New Braunfels and this might be a good year for the Boys as they will try to improve on their best district finish ever last year when they placed 4th in that meet.

Girl’s Cross Country will be hoping for a better finish after placing 6th in last year’s district run.

Canyon Lake will be seeing if their sub-varsity teams can continue a year of dominance with two solid teams, as the Freshman and JV will be in Lago Vista and Blanco to start campaign’s that will hopefully be challenging for district trophies.

The Hawk’s Varsity will be wanting to stop a 2 game skid against Blanco on Friday for their home opener. A win would even up that series with 4 wins a piece and a chance to start the season with some momentum which certainly was not the case after last year’s game.

Blanco did lose a lot of Seniors but Canyon Lake did also and now these two schools will see who can reload the quickest for an opening win.

Bracken Christian will be a young team as well when the Warriors start their season at home against Temple Holy Trinity.

It is much harder to get a handle on 6-man teams as it would not take much to change the direction of any school that has an injury or something out of the ordinary happening to their roster.

Last year, Bracken’s team did not have the depth to sustain a season going deep into the playoffs.

This year’s team will have more players but those replacements will be a youthful bunch and seeing how these players respond to a different system will be paramount on how the rest of these games might unfold.

A lot of questions for the two schools that The ReSporter covers, giving us some exciting times ahead for both teams.

The ReSporter will have interviews with the Coaches each week as well as pre/game articles giving a capsule of the game being played as well as updates on your local heroes.

Please come and be a part of this year’s seasons as The ReSporter will cover these two schools like no other publication.

Have ideas, then let The ReSporter know and within reason you could see those ideas brought forth in some future articles.

The ReSporter will also have the Advertiser’s Pick’em Contest again this year and hope you will support these people as they are the back bone to how we can afford the costs and time spent covering these students.

Go Hawks and Warriors!!!
