MV Hawks 7th B Team has Best Win Ever in Game with Texans, 24-6

White Lightning and Big Red are all smiles after win over Wimberley, 24-6

White Lightning and Big Red are all smiles after win over Wimberley, 24-6

Mountain Valley 7th B team ran to a 24 lead while keeping the Texans with just 55 yards of offense helping the Hawks sweep Wimberley on their first game of the season, 24-6.

A paltry 1 first down for Wimberley tells the story as MV gave up just one 49 yard play for the night giving the Texans their only score.

That one play was 89% of the Texans total offense giving Wimberley right at .4 yards per play for the rest of the contest.

The run also was the only account for a first down as this Texan team would be stymied without any chance of getting a foot hold against the Hawks.

This was the first game ever for these players for Mountain Valley and the debut was scored a success.

“At first I was nervous,” Troy Eyster said with conviction. “The first time I lined up our line was so big and so I knew I would be protected and our offensive line is the backbone of our team.”

“I was nervous because that was the first time I had ever carried the ball,” Noah du Menil started. “I just saw holes and getting the win was what I wanted to do.”

That was certainly the case as du Menil was seen on the field as a running back and #51 on his jersey.

Both of these players exemplified all of their teammates as both sides of the ball was in control the whole game.

“We just wanted to get our snap counts right and not letting anything stop us,” du Menil said like a pro as his teammates made sure The ReSporter would know his nickname is Big Red.

“I was a safety and they (Wimberley) had some mistakes,” Eyster said as he commented that his nickname was White Lightning. “Our defensive guards were getting to the ball and this was the best game that we have played.”

This was also the first game MV had ever played for Mountain Valley.

MVMS would have the ball for the first two drives as a kickoff was not fielded after the Hawks first score giving Mountain Valley the ball for the first quarter and a half.

That means just 3 plays for Wimberley and 12 yards was all was available for the Texans.

Mountain Valley would score on those first two drives giving the Hawks a lead that would never be threatened.

There were some rough spots in the second half losing two fumbles but an interception by Jakob Kellerman helped set up a MV one play drive from 21 yards out by Troy Eyster helping to put Wimberley out of their misery.

Kellerman returned that Texan pass 44 yards giving Eyster an easy touchdown run on the very next play.

The home crowd was treated to a 7th grade domination as both Wimberley teams would only amount to 102 total yards together.

The only time Wimberley eradicated their (-) yardage was on that one play that totaled 49 yards for the only score on the night.

With only 8 plays that had positive yardage for the visitors will give you an idea of how in control the Hawks were throughout the evening.

“I think we can get a championship and carry on the Mountain Valley tradition,” du Menil said as he saw a gaping whole to walk through the door as he finished with his interview.

Controlling both lines was the key on this night and now this team will have to wait another week to see if they can top their best game ever that was performed tonight.

Congratulations and Go Hawks!!
