Canyon Lake Boy’s Soccer is on a Roll after their win over Burnet on Friday night, 4-2.

This is now a 5 game winning streak which matches the most wins in a season except for the present campaign as CL now resides with a 7-4 record.

Mike Thorpe had a hat trick with 3 goals on the night which gave him 13 goals for this year and has more points for this year than his previous two campaigns.

“He’s (Thorpe) been our captain for 3 years now and he is our team leader,” Head Coach Warren Graham admonished. “Obviously he is very important for us offensively and players will try to key on him…but the key for us will be feed and dish.”

Thorpe has more than doubled Juan Martinez career with 57 points as the season starts to prepare for district play.

You will also notice Rohrbacher on the above list as he also finished off the scoring in this game and resides in third place passing Clark.

“We did more with the ball and mixed it up with short and long passes,” Coach Graham assessed. “We are opening up when we have the ball and that helped tonight.”

Canyon Lake continues to impress but when district starts up in a couple of weeks, play will intensify as Boerne and Fredericksburg are both well established programs.

“The time off is good and bad, as we do not want to become complacent,” Coach Graham said. “We can also use this time to get over all of those nicks but we will try to keep up our routine and play some intra squad scrimmages to stay sharp.”

The Hawks will start district on February 19th giving CL two weeks for honing in their skill set and prepare for this tough district.
