Canyon Lake had another decent week as the football squads all won their games and the girls Volleyball squad played one game and that too came out on the winning side.

The Cross Country team had an intra-squad competition on Saturday, they worked as if they were at a meet to keep on a schedule and they will travel to Liberty Hill this coming Saturday. It will be interesting to see how this Hawk team has improved their times being two weeks into the season.

Volleyball had a tough game in Marion, as this match went best of 5 and the Marion Bulldogs gave Canyon Lake all they could handle.

Now after having an off date last Friday the Hawks will take on a tough La Grange team on Tuesday and then make a short drive to Navarro this coming Friday.

The Hawk’s Volleyball team is allergic to playing at home with playing just two games during the opening day of this season at home.

A lot of road games since and this week will be another hefty dose of travel and hopefully some victories.

Navarro is in the top 15 in the State Polls and Canyon Lake will have a good idea where they stand after this week’s games.

Football continues their schedule welcoming Giddings to town on Friday night. The Buffaloes won their game last week when they sent Wimberley home with loss.

Giddings had lost their opening game to Navarro and the Hawks will also see how they stack up as the Buffaloes have a rich history of playing in playoff games while going many rounds of games.

The Hawks have shown they have a good defense in their two games and with the offense, the rushing game is getting their steps in while the passing game has improved to averaging over 120 yard per game.

Another yard stick this week for Volleyball and Football and after these games the Hawk Nation will know if they will make that Yard.
