                            ======================================

Canyon Lake had a flat tire last week in their game with Fredericksburg as this contest seemed like their tire would take forever to be fixed. By the time the new tire was put on the Billies were passing the finish line leaving the Hawks with only one way to repeat their District Championship quest…..beating Fredericksburg at their house this next go round.

The game went 5 sets and every point was magnified by the importance of needing a win for having the inside track to having the first place trophy.

Every team finished the first round of games with each school being 1 game behind or ahead of the next school. That goes to show the casual fan that their were no team surprising any other school.

This next set of games will have more riding on them as each school looks to improve their seeding for the Playoffs.

Hondo does not look like they have the players in place to win, thus giving the top four schools with a chance to jockey for position.

Boerne which came into district play with a decent record and what many thought having a chance of finishing first this year. That was dismissed in their first game losing to Bandera and then losing the next 2 games.

Bandera lost to CL and Freddie which gives you an idea that the Bulldogs and Greyhounds will have a chance of setting the table this Tuesday. A Bandera win would cement Boerne to a 4th place seeding and give the Bulldogs a chance to improve on their 3rd place position against Canyon Lake.

Conversely, Canyon Lake will need to have a 2 game streak going when they Fredericksburg for a chance of finishing tied for 1st unless the Billies get upset by Bandera.

Fredericksburg was at the head of the class in round one and more studying and getting A’s will be the only way for the other District 28-4A schools to jump to the head of the class.

Good and Fun times as the last two weeks start in earnest this Tuesday.

Canyon Lake will have a bye on Tuesday before they meet Boerne at home before the football team gets going.

The Hawk Freshman team is in first place while CL’s Junior Varsity will have a chance to get a win back from Boerne to tie up their record to the only team to beat them that first round.

Go Varsity and keep up the good work Sub-Varsity and Go Hawks Beat Boerne!!
