Ian Hasness and Taylor Isley after Winning Doubles in Dist. 28-4A

Canyon Lake’s Tennis team had some firsts in their last two meets as Ian Hasness and Taylor Isley won the Doubles District 28-4A event.

Hannah White and Katherine  Damuth at East Central Tourney

“I am very happy on how well our Tennis Team has done at the last two tournaments,” Head Coach Kirsten Smith commented. “Last week, we went to the East Central High School and we were the only 4A school….Hannah White and Katherine Damuth placed 3rd in the tournament.”

Damuth is a Senior for the Hawks and that meet was a good way for her to go out in style for Canyon Lake.

“Ian Hasness and Taylor Isley won in that tournament and they had a great match,” Coach Smith continued.

This is the time of year where all the sports start to wind down and CL was also in Fredericksburg for the District 28-4A battle.

“The district tournament was a nail biting event,” Coach Smith said. “Hasness and Isley won 1st place in the boy’s doubles in district.”

“This is the first time that our doubles team has won district,” Smith beamed. “They will be heading to Corpus Christi for Regionals….our mixed doubles team of Felix Blaksley and Dana Buhr, won their first round but had a tough loss in the second round match.”

Canyon Lake keeps making firsts at they continue with each year of competition in all of their sports.

Congratulations and good luck for Ian and Taylor as they represent the Hawk Nation.

Go Hawks!!
