Hawks Take it on the Beak in Loss to Fredericksburg, 53-33
Canyon Lake started strong after reeling off 6 straight points to start their contest against Fredericksburg, but after that, it was the Billie show and a 20 point win, 53-33.
The Hawks shooting never got going as the only 3point shot to find the net was made in the4th quarter when the game was for sloppy seconds. Shooting 28% from the floor and just over 50% from the free throw line gives a good indication on how this game finished.
CL out rebounded the Billies but starting the 2nd half with 3 straight unforced errors kept the game out of reach and well in hand for Fredericksburg.
Canyon Lake will now have a short rest before traveling to Bandera in a must win game as it will be important to get the train back on the rails for being in position for making the playoffs for the 3rd time in a row.
Caimen McDonough was the only Hawk to reach double digit scoring as he finished with 8 rebounds which also led CL in that category.
A 2 point 3rd quarter and 9 total points in those two middle periods put Canyon Lake out of touch with having a chance for a come back. Fredericksburg out scored the Hawks, 25-9 in those two middle stanza’s and eventual loss.
Bandera is next on the road and Go Hawks!!
