Softball: Hawks Finish 1st Day of Blanco Tourney with 2 Wins!!

Canyon Lake now has a 5 game winning streak after their first day playing in the Blanco/Johnson City Tournament.

Maddy Puente was in the circle in game with Johnson City.

That 2nd game resulted with a tied score with a back and forth contest, when the JC Eagles took a 2 run lead that evaporated in the next two innings as CL scored 4 runs to take the advantage in a timed battle.

Johnson City would seize the lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning only to have Canyon Lake respond with their 3rd two run inning ending the game with both teams having 6 runs.

Maggie Banks continued to have strong outings with two 5 inning wins over TMI and Llano and then had a cameo appearance in that JC game and struck out 2 batters without a hit preserving the tie.

Canyon Lake had a .443 batting percentage in the 3 games with all their hits but one being a single. Banks had a double in the win over TMI.

CL will be back in action at home tomorrow night when they take on a State Ranked Navarro at the Hawk Nest.

Then back to Johnson City for another round of Saturday games to complete their Tournament. Akins and San Antonio Christian will be the foes for that day of competition.
