Boys Golf: CL Hawks Finish Strong with District Meet next Week

Canyon Lake’s Boys Golf team place 3rd place in Fredericksburg this week as team had one of their best scores to date and will prepare for District 28-4A play this next week.

           Way to Go Hawks!!

“We are really playing our best golf of the season right now, which is good,” Head Golf Coach Lucas Chapman stated. “If we continue to play and perform the way we have, then we have a great chance to advance to regionals.”

The Hawks have not had finished in the top of the heap in golf and this year might be a chance of getting into the Regionals being another 1st for this year’s sports accomplishments.

“Fredericksburg will win the district handly,” Coach Chapman spoke frankly. “But we are right there with Boerne and Bandera battling for 2nd.”

This 3rd place finish would be a good sign as one of their best players was not at this meet in Chance Martelli. Of course having the best score takes as many good scores as possible as the last place finisher has their score taken out of that final score for the team.

Freshman Colton Winters finished with a 4th Place Medalist and that bodes well for future years.

Canyon Lake finished in 3rd place last week in their Comfort Tournament and look to continue that strong play.
