Volleyball: Navarro out hustles Hawks, 19-25, 20-25, 19-25
Canyon Lake could not muster the energy to beat Navarro last Tuesday night at the Hawk Gym.
The loss gives Canyon Lake a large hole to dig out of for the remainder of the season.
Winning out and getting some help from some other teams will need to be the formula for the Hawks to muster enough wins to make the post season.
“We played like this the first time we played Navarro,” Head Coach Nicole Creek surmised. “At least we took one game from them last time.”
The backbreaker happened in the second game, when CL had a 15-11 lead. The Panthers rallied with eight points for the 21-16 lead and coasted for the victory, 25-20.
In the third game, Canyon Lake woke up too late to make their run, as Navarro not only matched the rallies of the Hawks, but did them one better.
The game ended like the first game as CL found themselves on the short end by that same score, 19-25.
The season is not over, but all the stars will have to align in sequence for the Hawks to have a playoff spot.
“We have to be mentally ready in every game,” Coach Creek finished.
The next home game will be next Tuesday, October 11 against Bandera…come out and support the Hawks.
