Canyon Lake’s win stayed in step with Liberty Hill as both teams are still without a loss going into their third district game.
District 14-4A Division I Standings have three couplets of teams sharing the same record and giving an idea of seeding for the post-season.
The Lampasas and Taylor game will jettison the winner for an outside chance of being seeded two or three when the season concludes.
Fredericksburg and Burnet are still looking to break into the win column which will put a larger emphases to this week’s battle for Canyon Lake and the Billies.
Freddie had a tough front end to their district schedule having to face a potent Liberty Hill school. That beat down suffered two weeks ago certainly had an effect on last week’s road loss to Taylor.
Liberty Hill Panthers and Canyon Lake have both qualified for the playoffs and will concentrate on their seeding as the season enters the last third of the this year’s campaign.
The Panthers have shown that their offense is running in tip-top shape averaging 62 points with a date at Burnet coming up. This will not be a good night for the Bulldogs after giving up 43 points to (the other slot-t team) Canyon Lake. LH was in a tough fight in their first half battle with Lampasas.
The Badgers offense has been playing well averaging right at 39 points this season as they will welcome Taylor as both teams have an inside lane in making the playoffs. The winner should clinch a playoff spot and leaving the loser with more hurdles to clear to be seated on one of those 4 playoffs chairs.
The ReSporter will have more info on this week’s game with Fredericksburg on a Pre/Game article later this week.
Suffice to say, there are still a lot of moving parts as this season heads around the last curve for the finish line.
Go Hawks!!
