Lady Hawks Fight Hard in Bi-District Loss to LH Panthers, 48-32

Canyon Lake Lady Hawks finished their season after a hard fought loss to the Liberty Hill Panthers, 48-32 in a game played in Dripping Springs on Tuesday night.
“Our effort was good,” Head Coach Zach Burleson said. “Making the playoffs back to back is great. We just needed to continue to improve by working on skills. I am real proud to be a part of this team and we will miss Emily (Geist) and Adia (Garcia). We wish them the best in their futures.”

CL finished their 2nd year of 20 wins or more for a sport that had a 19 game win season back during the second year of play when the CL was just starting.
A fourth seed being within 4 points of a first seed in the second half speaks volumes for how this group of ladies have persevered through injuries this year.
Lainee Moses and Chelsea Tschoepe both finished with 9 points while Tschoepe and Jesse Melendez matched that number for rebounds in this Bi-District battle.
Lainee Moses stepped her game during the last few games and finished her season in reaching first for the all time best assist year in passing Tiffany Arredondo who was a player during that 2010 season of 19 wins.
Marley Carrizales finished her Junior year passing Ashley Pfaff, another player during that 2010 year with 106 steals.
Melendez’s rebounding in counting this year is now the all time leader in that category after passing Tiffany Tschoepe (another player from the 2010 season) earlier this year.

Chelsea Tschoepe had a banner year from beyond the arc and had the 2nd best (46) number in only trailing Reagan Heun who is in her first year playing for North Dakota State.
A bevy of Juniors with another year to continue another season of records and improving their skills and making a mark for Canyon Lake Lady Basketball program.
