Bailey Bryan Signs to Play Softball at Concordia University

Bailey Bryan is surrounded by Coaches and Family for her next stop to Concordia University. (Josh Bryan, Bailey Bryan, Christy Bryan. Top Row: Tosha Ridgeway, John Gallagher, Kim Clemons, Hayley Galloway)

Bailey Bryan will be taking her Softball Skills to Concordia and will look to continue her dominance on the diamond as this young lady was certainly dominant during her 4 year stint at the Hawk Nest.

Bryan hit for average and became the all-time slugger in leading Canyon Lake with 9 home-runs in 2018 and finishing her career with 14 dingers. This would translate to leading the Hawks with the best slugging percentage and finishing 3rd with a .438 batting average.

Defense? Glad you asked, by playing infield and outfield she excelled and finished as a rock solid center fielder keeping many opposing Coaches with their hands held high in trying to stop their base runners from taking that extra base.

Class Room? Not bad in finishing 13th in the Class of 2019, as not committing errors was something she would take to all facets of her life as a student.

Bryan was the lone Senior on this year’s team but made the Hawks look like there were many more players celebrating their last year of competition by raising the team to a higher realm.

“She came in focused and wanted to learn,” Former Head Softball Coach John Gallagher stated. “She would just soak up the knowledge.”

This year’s Coach, Hayley Galloway was quick with some praise, “She was talented and had the ability to be a great teammate….you would never know if she was having a bad day as she always was there to pick-up teammates 100% of the time.”

“We are going to miss her!!!”

      Way to Go Bailey Bryan!!

Josh (Dad) Bryan, “I am very proud of how self motivated she is, we did not have to crack a whip…she just set her own standard and she knew what she wanted and always had the goals to get them.”

On what was a funny thought? “She came home from school one day and it was if the world fell apart as she shared she had made an 89 in the class that day,” Dad Bryan said. “We did not have to get mad at her because she did that to herself.”

“I am going to have to go out and buy some more purple shirts,” Josh Bryan closed.

Christy (Mom) Bryan, “Playing for a D-I school was not her thing…she wanted a small school and after she is finished there she will be heading to Texas State for graduate school. There is no doubt that she will do well.”

Bailey knocks a home-run with her signing to play in college.

Bailey’s time at bat was next, “I loved high school and playing sports was really amazing and I loved my teachers!!”

On when she first started thinking she might like to play softball in college? “Halfway through my freshman year…I had always wanted to play college and I saw my friends signing to play at the next level and that triggered me and gave me more motivation to do the same thing.”

“I will major in Kinesiology and I want to say it was exciting to go and play at Canyon Lake with all of the support that was behind me.”

On what Bailey would like to instill to the younger players, “Find a purpose and get your motivation and run with it!!”

Words of Wisdom from a lady that seems to have her home-run trot down as she starts her first part of life after high school in getting to first base.

A joy covering you these past 4 years and now make the Hawk Nation Proud and do well in life!!

Go Hawks and Go Concordia University!!
